This was was horrific for my home state of Oklahoma. On Monday a violent and devastating tornado ripped through Moore, just south of Oklahoma City. My Moore people survived with their family and home intact. I'm very thankful for that.
I've done a lot of work behind the scenes this week: At Oklahoma Women Bloggers, we've kept a list of ways to respond to the tragedy. At the national Listen To Your Mother site, I wrote about checking in with our cast members/family members, many of whom were in the path or peripheral of this tornado.
The thing about disasters is that it brings out the best and the beautiful in people.
With that being said, my popular post (and my only "real" post) was where I tell my daughter I'm not getting her a zebra after all.
I also posted a way to help the tornado relief efforts through Happy First, an Oklahoma company.
On Chick-Wit this week, I ragged on the idiot Pat Robertson. All I can really say is what an idiot.
My column was released this week in the Examiner Enterprise. I talk about how hard it is when my husband grills. It's not hard for him, of course.
And finally, my book tour officially kicks off this week! Tuesday, I'll be featured on Ozarks at Large at noon and 7:00.
Be sure to catch me on KNWA Wednesday morning during the 8:00 hour.
Then come see me on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 at Nightbird Books. Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00, I'll be in Fort Smith at Hastings (6808 Rogers Avenue, Fort Smith, AR).
